Gigi Hadid Diet and Fitness Guide

Gigi Hadid has been making a splash in the fashion world recently especially since she is now officially a part of the VS Angel crew.

One thing that’s so great about Gigi is her body isn’t like a typical models body… (I personally think it’s better). Mostly because she is a healthy weight and is able to be healthy and fit while eating (unlike some models with more typical model bodies). She has thighs and boobs, so she fills out her dresses, but she also has abs and a toned body so it’s a balance of everything you’d want!

I’ve done some research, and this is what I’ve found out about Gigi’s workout routine and diet!

Her motto is: eat clean to stay fit, but have a cheat day to stay sane. She loves pasta, cheeseburgers, and other junk food type things, but she balanced those out by drinking green juices and smoothies, and eating salads and other healthy meals.

Some staples for Gigi’s pantry/fridge would be:

  • Mixed greens and other salad making supplies
  • Raw veggies like carrots, radishes, cucumbers, and snap peas
  • Hummus
  • Avocados
  • Whole grain bread
  • Kale
  • Green tea
  • Cold pressed juices

Some go to meals for Gigi would be:

  • A green protein smoothie
  • Salad with sea food
  • Sandwich with greens and avocados (various other things inside, not cheese)
  • Roasted veggies with rice and beans
  • Kale/spinach scramble

When it comes to working out, Gigi is a beast. She…

  • Boxes (video here)
  • Plays volleyball
  • Rides horses (which is a surprisingly good butt workout)
  • Jumping rope

She’s been quoted saying her legs are rock hard and she eats like a man. Looking at her body, we can assume she is over exaggerating about the eating like a man thing, but since she works out so much she has to fuel her body so she can develop muscle and continue to slay everyone in the fashion business.

Another stand out part of Gigi are her abs. So sit ups, crunches, leg lifts, planks and yoga can all help tone and firm your abs!

Finally, it’s important to remember that your body is your body and Gigi’s body is her body and the two will never look alike whether you eat the exact same thing and work out for the exact same amount of time. Remember to love yourself and eat well and your desired results will come.

Morning Glory, Eugene OR Review

If you are ever in Eugene OR this is a must try place. Like… MUST TRY! This place is EPIC! I literally (and I actually mean literally) ate breakfast there every single morning for 42 days straight. Quinoa, pico, and beans topped with vegan sour cream, and vegan veggie omelets? Hmm, maybe chai hazelnut french toast, and a strawberry lavender smoothie? What about a giant plate of waffles with vegan whip cream and a tofu scramble with herbed potatoes and a (vegan) buttered biscuit (oh my god… heaven on earth).

As you can see, the food looks vibrant and delicious, and it’s vegan!!! The coffee also… is just unreal. So amazing I can’t put it in words.

A nice touch to almost any meal is some of the nutritional yeast sauce. It’s like a cheese sauce but cruelty, and puss free!

I like this place so much, I recommend booking a flight right now just get some Morning Glory cafe food.

Vacation like the Locals: Oahu Hawaii

I love Hawaii! Overall I’ve visited the state 12 times. I’ve been to Oahu 4 times, and I absolutely loved it! I’ve been to Maui about 5 times too, but since I plan to go to college in Oahu and it’s the more popular island, I’m going to do a must visit (non touristy) attraction guide. With a vegan twist!

Stairway to Heaven/Haiku Stairs:

Okay, so this hike is actually illegal and fenced off, but the guard who comes to make sure people don’t get in doesn’t get there until 5 a.m (get there around 3). The hike isn’t that dangerous, but if you are afraid of heights this is not for you.

If you are a fit person who isn’t afraid of heights, this hike can be one of the best experiences you’ll ever have. However, make sure you know yourself before you go, because people have had to be helicoptered off.

The Coffee Gallery:

Coffee, acai, coffee floats, milk shakes, soy lattes, vegan purple potato cake… must I say more? The coffee here is delicious and the food is amazing!

They have many different acai variations to order, and they’re all very good!

Lastly, ask for a coffee float with soy milk and coconut milk ice cream. Its like a rootbeer float, but an adult version that you don’t feel guilty about because there’s coffee in it!

Haleiwa Bowls (north shore):

Acai is amazing and super healthy. Fruit puree, with fruit on top, topped with a sprinkle of fruit? Sounds like a solid breakfast. The best bowls on the island are found on the north shore at Haleiwa bowls.

A cool fact about this place is that Jay Alvarrez and Alexis Ren both eat/have eaten here. Alexis posted a snap of herself recently with a papaya and blackberry bowl.

So if you’re trying to eat like alexis, (I know I have some Alexis fans on here) this place is perfect because she literally has eaten at this exact place.

Ehukai Beach Park, Haleiwa… or the Banzai Pipeline:

The beach with the epic waves… the north shore of Oahu is famous for these waves. Due to the reed the waves form a pipe or a tube. These waves are dangerous, but they aren’t huge year round. Either way, go to the beach and check it out.

Judd Trail:

Yet another hike… but trust me, this trail is amazing. There is a bamboo forest,  there are guava patches, waterfalls, and stream.

Where there are hiking trails… there are always fruit vendors, so get yourself some fresh fruit after you get your sweat on.

Lanikai Beach:

White sand, crystal clear blue water… what more could you need.

Mighty-O Donuts Review

I am a donut addict. I love them! Cake donuts of any flavor will always be finished if they get within five feet of me. Anyways, today I learned that there is an all vegan donut shop pretty close to my house so obviously I had to go get half a dozen.

I got 2 lemon poppyseeds, 1 pumpkin, 1 chocolate, 1 grasshopper, and 1 chocolate raspberry.

Here are the final rankings:

  • In 1st place is the Grasshopper donut! So much icing (YAS) – mint and chocolate on a chocolate donut… mmmm. I devoured this one, because I literally couldn’t not eat it all.
  • 2nd place went to the lemon poppyseed donut. It was very lemony, which I actually liked because it kept it fresh and the sugar wasn’t overpowering. Overall it was bomb!
  • 3rd place goes to the chocolate raspberry donut. The icing was so pretty and pink. It was also the perfect balance of sweet and sour. Plus you could really taste the raspberry. The donut was good too but it was the combination that I really liked.
  • 4th place was the pumpkin donut. It was actually really good, it just wasn’t a stand out!
  • 5th place goes to the all chocolate donut. This is the only one that I only took one bite of. I just thought it needed something like mint or raspberry to make it good. It was by no means bad though.

So there you have it. If your are in the Seattle area, go give Might-O’s donuts a try! I also got a rice milk latte and it was good too.

Horchata Flavored Blended Coffee (Vegan and Healthy)

This experimental recipe came to me when I was drinking a delicious soy milk thai tea from my local thai restaurant. It was creamy and sweet and I liked it so much, I wondered what it would taste like with a shot of coffee in it.

Anyways, when I got home, around dinner, I got a craving for horchata and coffee. So being the wild girl I am, I decided to mix them. I didn’t have rice milk so I decided to swap it for soy. Here’s how to make it.

  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2-3 tbs maple syrup (real, not the fake kind)
  • 1.5 shots coffee
  • 2/3 cup soy milk
  • 10 ice cubes

Blend up these ingredients for about 60 seconds. Pour and enjoy!

Alexis Ren Breakfast Guide

I love Alexis Ren and I get countless requests to do more posts on her, and even though I feel like I’ve done way to many, one or two more wont hurt! Recently she tweeted a picture of her breakfast, saying she was eating a kale smoothie bowl with spirulina and blueberries. Next to it was some tea and in a different picture of the same breakfast, a pitaya smoothie.

To make this same bowl all you need is…

  • 1-2 frozen (ripe) bananas
  • 1 cup raw kale
  • 1 tsp spirulina
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cup coconut water

Top this smoothie bowl base with…

  • Fresh blueberries
  • Coconut shavings
  • low sugar granola (optional)

Pitaya smoothies are super simple and easy. All you need is:

  • 1 pitaya packet
  • 1 frozen or regular ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1/2 cup mango chunks

Another one of Alexis’ breakfast options are acai bowl! You can find acai in most cities as it’s becoming berry (haha) trendy and it is so delicious.

The last Alexis Ren breakfast I found was just a big bowl of fruit, a smoothie bowl and a berry smoothie.

Alexis’ breakfast is on the top, the strawberries, bananas, papaya, mango, smoothie, and smoothie bowl. The eggs and bacon are Jay’s (Alexis doesn’t eat bacon) However she might eat the avocado toast next to it.

A simple berry smoothie can be made with:

  • 1-2 cups (frozen) mixed berries (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 a banana (ripe)

Smoothie bowls are made by simply adding less liquid to a smoothie and freezing the banana. So if you have a good dairy free smoothie recipe, just reduce the amount of liquid and freeze the banana or fruit in the smoothie. Top it with granola, hemp seeds, goji berries, almonds, or coconut shavings!

Chai Spiced Vegan Waffles

If you couldn’t tell by now… I’m obsessed with waffles. I recently posted my sweet potato pie waffle recipe and got some good feed back, so I’m giving the readers what they want… more waffles!

I added blueberries and maple syrup on top of mine (microwaved frozen blueberries) for some extra flavor and sweetness.

Ingredients…

  • 1.5 tbs melted coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup (or more – until desired consistency) almond milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla and almond extract
  • 3 tbs (STRONGLY brewed) chai tea
  • Dash of cinnamon and nut meg
  • 2 tbs agave (optional)

Just mix that up in a bowl and put it on your waffle iron.
