Sex and the City: Guide to the City

I am a huge SATC fan! Being able to live in NYC is amazing because everywhere I go I recognize something from the show! I get giddy sometimes actually… that’s how big of  a fan I am. I’m also inspired by the girls every morning when I pick out my outfit. In this guide I’m going to include actual iconic locations from SATC as well as a few newer places that I think the girls would love and give me strong SATC vibes. (Plus the best places to take SATC themes instagrams and what to wear) So… without further ado…

 Where to eat: 

  • Joe’s Pub – 425 Lafayette St
    •  Seen in season 5 (2002)
    • Carrie went with Stanford to watch Stanford’s boyfriend (Marcus) preform.
  • SushiSamba (West Village) – 87 Seventh Avenue South
    • Seen in over 7 episodes
    • Carrie dines here for lunch in many episodes, this is also the restaurant where Samantha threw a dirty martini in Richard’s face.

    • Episode: Where There’s Smoke (2000)
    • This is the restaurant where Charlotte’s date (her white knight) punches a man for bumping her chair and turns into her “white nightmare”.

  • The Brooklyn Bridge – Seen in SATC Movie 1
    • If you’re visiting New York in the summer, try walking the Brooklyn Bridge at midnight – bonus points if you bring you significant other and make it a romantic walk. However you don’t have to walk at midnight to have an amazing experience. The Brooklyn Bridge is a great walk and great time any season or time of day.

    • If you want to take a cute picture that will make most of your girlfriends squeal with jealousy, a pic in front of Carries apartment (maybe try wearing her classic tutu dress too) will do just that!

    • Any sex and the city fan knows Carrie almost married big at the Public Library. The iconic pillars, the white marble… there’s not much else to say.

    • Carrie’s shoe collection is predominately made up of Manolo Blahniks and the brand is mentioned nearly every episode. The other girls also love and wear the shoes in many episodes.

Alexis Ren Diet Guide pt 2

I have made posts on Alexis and other celebrities diets, but I have gotten about a million messages, comments, and requests for more info on Alexis… so here you guys go!

One of the main questions I get is… does Alexis eat flour? (i.e tortillas, pasta, bread) Okay, so she has said she does not eat bread on her tumblr, however she said nothing about flour or gluten, so the answer is… maybe? But I would just like to add that eating some flour isn’t the end of the world, it can be healthy to eat tortillas or bread so just try to eat organic and don’t stress.

Another popular question I get is “what is Alexis’ go to meal?” Well just judging by what I’ve seen on all of her social media I would say an acai bowl.

Here is an Alexis Inspired Acai Bowl Recipe:

  • Base:
    • 2 Acai packets
    • 1 Frozen banana
    • 1/2 cup Frozen blueberries
    • 5-10 Fresh strawberries
    • 1/2 cup Pineapple Juice
  • Topping:
    • Chia/Hemp granola
    • Shredded coconut
    • Sliced strawberry
    • Sliced banana

Kylie Jenner is NOT a Role Model

Okay so let’s get this out of the way… I love seeing women (like Kylie) doing well, making their money, living their best life, etc. I’m all about that girl power, and just love to see people be successful in general! Now with that said… here is my HUGE problem with Kylie Jenner.

Her body modification/plastic surgery. But… let me be very clear, my issue is not that she has had extensive work done (because that’s okay – plastic surgery is totally cool, and nothing to be ashamed of or looked down on) but because she won’t admit it and lies about it. When Kylie admitted she got her lips done, (we all kind of knew) her verbal confirmation made any fans who defended her lips shut up and killed all the little girls with dreams that “puberty” would make their lips big too. I totally respected her for admitting it and I am happy for her that she is no longer insecure about herself. NOW… let’s talk about her body.

Above are some photos of Kylie’s real body (she has narrow hips, a very small butt, her waist is very up and down, flat stomach but no hourglass shape whatsoever) I think she looks great and when I was a fan of her back when I was younger and these pics came out I thought she looked great too! Now let’s look at some recent pics.

These two photosets look like they’re of two different people! I won’t be one of those annoying people and say she looks better in the first set because I don’t believe that. Personally I like the way her body looks in the second set, and when I go to the gym, I work for a smaller waist and a bigger behind… so I won’t lie. But I do not condone lying about how she got her body like that (surgery) and I think she is a BAD person for it.

Little girls, teenagers, and women in general are being told that this is what puberty does. That is not puberty!! That is thousands of dollars worth of plastic surgery!! When a girl looks at the tabloids or tumblr pictures online she will see Kylie Jenner’s “perfect body”. She will think why can’t I look like that? She will be insecure. She will think she is ugly. That is not okay and Kylie is 100% to blame. If she came out and admitted that she gets a Brazilian butt lift every 9 months and does fat graphing, liposuction, and has gotten breast implants and let everyone know that that body IS NOT REAL I would have so much respect for her. But she continues to claim that that is just how god made her and it’s complete and utter toxic bullshit.

So let’s stop idolizing this girl, let’s stop putting her on a pedestal, let’s find role models with positive messages, let’s find idols who represent education, philanthropy, positivity, love, etc. Let’s stop caring about Kylie Jenner because she does nothing worth caring about.

Beyonce’s Master Cleanse

Beyonce is pregnant! With twins! I’m sure you’ve seen her instagram post (who hasn’t), or heard it from someone… but if you haven’t… then ya heard it from me.

As we all know, Bey already has an adorable family and a beautiful little girl, and as we all know her body bounced back almost right away after having her. So how does the queen herself keep her body looking good? Well as we all know, she has a booty. She also had some thigh meat, and thats what we love about her. So when you want to look like Beyonce keep in mind you’re not trying to lose a lot of weight. Skinny is so 1990’s and were in the era of the booty now so stop with the calorie restricting and try doing it like Bey. She eats vegan to maintain her shape. She is not strictly vegan but that’s the diet she follows. However I know you guys came for her master cleanse recipe and not her everyday diet (will be coming out with a Beyonce Diet Plan soon)… so here it is.

Beyonces cleanse:

    1. First, squeeze fresh lemon juice
    2. Then add REAL maple syrup, and cayenne pepper into pure water
    3. Drink a minimum of six to 12 glasses throughout the day
    4. Take a laxative before bed (swiss kriss or herbal laxative)

It is important when you are done with your 3-10 day cleanse that you slowly introduce regular food back into your diet. The day you finish you should continue to drink fluids and eat fresh fruits and veggies. Dinner should be something light and low in fat (no meat, cheese, eggs).

There you have it you guys… Beyonce’s master cleanse. Be careful and enjoy!
