Kylie Jenner is NOT a Role Model

Okay so let’s get this out of the way… I love seeing women (like Kylie) doing well, making their money, living their best life, etc. I’m all about that girl power, and just love to see people be successful in general! Now with that said… here is my HUGE problem with Kylie Jenner.

Her body modification/plastic surgery. But… let me be very clear, my issue is not that she has had extensive work done (because that’s okay – plastic surgery is totally cool, and nothing to be ashamed of or looked down on) but because she won’t admit it and lies about it. When Kylie admitted she got her lips done, (we all kind of knew) her verbal confirmation made any fans who defended her lips shut up and killed all the little girls with dreams that “puberty” would make their lips big too. I totally respected her for admitting it and I am happy for her that she is no longer insecure about herself. NOW… let’s talk about her body.

Above are some photos of Kylie’s real body (she has narrow hips, a very small butt, her waist is very up and down, flat stomach but no hourglass shape whatsoever) I think she looks great and when I was a fan of her back when I was younger and these pics came out I thought she looked great too! Now let’s look at some recent pics.

Here is her body now (Her hips are very wide, her stomach is flat, her waist is pinched, her breasts are bigger, and her butt is big)

These two photosets look like they’re of two different people! I won’t be one of those annoying people and say she looks better in the first set because I don’t believe that. Personally I like the way her body looks in the second set, and when I go to the gym, I work for a smaller waist and a bigger behind… so I won’t lie. But I do not condone lying about how she got her body like that (surgery) and I think she is a BAD person for it.

Little girls, teenagers, and women in general are being told that this is what puberty does. That is not puberty!! That is thousands of dollars worth of plastic surgery!! When a girl looks at the tabloids or tumblr pictures online she will see Kylie Jenner’s “perfect body”. She will think why can’t I look like that? She will be insecure. She will think she is ugly. That is not okay and Kylie is 100% to blame. If she came out and admitted that she gets a Brazilian butt lift every 9 months and does fat graphing, liposuction, and has gotten breast implants and let everyone know that that body IS NOT REAL I would have so much respect for her. But she continues to claim that that is just how god made her and it’s complete and utter toxic bullshit.

So let’s stop idolizing this girl, let’s stop putting her on a pedestal, let’s find role models with positive messages, let’s find idols who represent education, philanthropy, positivity, love, etc. Let’s stop caring about Kylie Jenner because she does nothing worth caring about.

Cookin’ like Ayesha Curry

I have made a few posts in the past about Ayesha. I love love love her, and she is coming out with a cook book soon so I wanted to make a little post about her. Fun fact: she is the reason I wanted to start blogging. I love her style and her outlook in her life and work (blog/food she makes) and I think she is an amazing wife and mother. It is my goal to be my man’s Ayesha Curry everyday whether it’s supporting his basketball career (exciting!!!), cooking him dinner, or giving him a back massage every night until he falls asleep in my lap. I love to spoil my boyfriend and I think Ayesha does too.

I guess if I had a kitchen helper as cute as Riley I’d be cookin’ up some bomb food like Ayesha everyday too. Seriously though. Can we take a minute to just look at what Steph and Ayesha blessed this earth with? That child is ADORABLE.

Inspiring Person (of the week) : Alexis Ren

I recently published a post on Alexis Ren (her diet/fitness guide) and everyone seemed to enjoy it, so this week I’m going to share the reasons why she inspires me. The post is linked here.

Aside from being a fitspo (fitness inspiration) she is also an amazing person. She radiates happiness and sunshine and scrolling through her tumblr or instagram is always an uplifting experience.

One reason why I love Alexis is because she seems so normal. Her favorite foods are breakfast foods like french toast, turkey bacon, and eggs, and she loves to drink coffee! (I relate to that last part!!!) Her nickname is puppy. She’s just like other girls except she’s perfect and lives an amazing beautiful life.

One of my favorite things about her is that she is always smiling, and oh what a beautiful smile she has. Anyways, being around (or in my case viewing pictures of) happy people just tends to make you happy. Her positive outlook on life makes her enjoyable to follow.

Also, she is ALWAYS at the beach. Since the beach is my absolute favorite place to be (!!!) I love seeing photos of her amazing beach adventures. It inspires me to get out of the house more, to take a trip somewhere, and really just do more than sit around.

She is also full of kindness and love towards her followers/supporters and her haters. She handles hateful comments with grace and tries to respond to her fans whenever possible.

Now, some people recently have been saying she has an eating disorder. Since I do not know her personally, I can neither confirm, nor deny if she does. If she does, that doesn’t make her any less of an amazing person, we all have our issues. However, I highly doubt she does. Just because someone loses some weight doesn’t mean they starved themselves in order to do it. She may have just upped the intensity of her workouts. Also losing weight while traveling is common, and she travels often. Whether her weight loss was an accident, on purpose (but done healthily), or due to an eating disorder is none of our business. No matter her weight she is still an amazing girl!

Inspiring Person (of the week) : Ayesha Curry

Ayesha Curry is the beautiful wife of Stephen Curry and mother of Riley and Ryan Curry. She runs a blog/youtube channel where she shares her organic recipes, fitness journey, and lifestyle tips. She also has an instagram and twitter where she shares her everyday life. I love reading her blog and watching her videos. I have tried a ton of her recipes, although she is a meat lover and since I’m veg I haven’t tried all of them. Aside from being a culinary goddess, she is also just a regular goddess goddess. Some of my favorite posts from her include her darling daughter Riley who is now considered the real MVP of the NBA. Ayesha is an amazing stay at home mom and she takes amazing care of Riley and her husband.

Ayesha said she actually began eating healthy and organic once she was pregnant with Riley and started thinking about how everything she put in her body was going to be going into her baby. She is one of the reasons I started to consider the same. I mean, I don’t have a child, but I deserve to treat my body with respect and love just like I would want to treat my future child. Along with positivity and love, Ayesha posts delicious pictures of her food.

The last reason why I love love love Ayesha is because she shares her fitness/health journey online with her followers. She is in it with us and falls off the wagon just as much as we do. She’s human although she looks like a goddess. She’s truly inspiring.

Winter Spice Smoothie (inspired by Ayesha Curry)

This smoothie recipe is inspired by Ayesha Curry’s holiday smoothie recipe. Her smoothie recipe was delicious and super sweet, but I added my own smoothie master twist on it and I think my version is pretty great too. I froze the banana, and added an extra one (frozen as well), used soy instead of almond milk, and nixed the honey. I find that soy is creamier (not as healthy… but) and the dates in the smoothie sweeten it enough so the honey isn’t necessary. Also, my secret magic trick is freezing the bananas which gives it an ice cream constancy.

Recipe:

2 Frozen Bananas (RIPE, wait for brown spots, they will be sweeter)

1 cup Soy Milk (unsweetened)

1 tsp All Spice

2-4 Pitted Medjool Dates
