I am a huge SATC fan! Being able to live in NYC is amazing because everywhere I go I recognize something from the show! I get giddy sometimes actually… that’s how big of  a fan I am. I’m also inspired by the girls every morning when I pick out my outfit. In this guide I’m going to include actual iconic locations from SATC as well as a few newer places that I think the girls would love and give me strong SATC vibes. (Plus the best places to take SATC themes instagrams and what to wear) So… without further ado…

 Where to eat: 

  • Joe’s Pub – 425 Lafayette St
    •  Seen in season 5 (2002)
    • Carrie went with Stanford to watch Stanford’s boyfriend (Marcus) preform.
  • SushiSamba (West Village) – 87 Seventh Avenue South
    • Seen in over 7 episodes
    • Carrie dines here for lunch in many episodes, this is also the restaurant where Samantha threw a dirty martini in Richard’s face.

    • If you’re visiting New York in the summer, try walking the Brooklyn Bridge at midnight – bonus points if you bring you significant other and make it a romantic walk. However you don’t have to walk at midnight to have an amazing experience. The Brooklyn Bridge is a great walk and great time any season or time of day.

Beyonce’s Master Cleanse

Beyonce is pregnant! With twins! I’m sure you’ve seen her instagram post (who hasn’t), or heard it from someone… but if you haven’t… then ya heard it from me.

As we all know, Bey already has an adorable family and a beautiful little girl, and as we all know her body bounced back almost right away after having her. So how does the queen herself keep her body looking good? Well as we all know, she has a booty. She also had some thigh meat, and thats what we love about her. So when you want to look like Beyonce keep in mind you’re not trying to lose a lot of weight. Skinny is so 1990’s and were in the era of the booty now so stop with the calorie restricting and try doing it like Bey. She eats vegan to maintain her shape. She is not strictly vegan but that’s the diet she follows. However I know you guys came for her master cleanse recipe and not her everyday diet (will be coming out with a Beyonce Diet Plan soon)… so here it is.

Beyonces cleanse:

    1. First, squeeze fresh lemon juice
    2. Then add REAL maple syrup, and cayenne pepper into pure water
    3. Drink a minimum of six to 12 glasses throughout the day
    4. Take a laxative before bed (swiss kriss or herbal laxative)

It is important when you are done with your 3-10 day cleanse that you slowly introduce regular food back into your diet. The day you finish you should continue to drink fluids and eat fresh fruits and veggies. Dinner should be something light and low in fat (no meat, cheese, eggs).

There you have it you guys… Beyonce’s master cleanse. Be careful and enjoy!

DIY Weight Loss Tea

I’m sure you’ve seen boo tea, lyfe tea, skinny tea, and alllll those brands that basically sell the exact same product and do all their advertising via Kylie Jenner’s instagram… and I’m sure some of you have been tempted by the photos and testimonials online to buy some of it. But I’m sure if you’ve ever bought and used those teas you probably noticed they don’t do anything. So I’m going to share my secret little recipe for getting rid of bloating, helping me clean out my stomach, digest my food better, and give me a boost of vitamins.

First boil some water, you’ll want about 12-18 oz for your tea –

Slice a lime into wedges and use half of the lime to steep in the hot water. Next add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper (as much as you can handle), lastly let a spoon of honey dissolve in the hot water. Stir and steep the tea, for five minutes and enjoy while it’s still warm.

Lime juice is energizing, full of vitamin c, and when mixed with the hot water will help your digestion.

This is my secret morning trick and I feel less bloated right after every glass – try it out and let me know how it is!

Homemade Body Scrub Recipe

Have you ever read the ingredient list on the back of one your beauty products? You’d be shocked at how many ingredients there are on the back. I personally don’t always feel comfortable putting all of the foreign products on my body so I am a huge fan of this homemade body scrub that I have recently perfected.

This brown sugar vanilla scrub smells heavenly and leaves my skin glowing. I will share the super secret recipe with you guys but only because I love you.

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup softened coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbs vitamin e extract
  • 1 big shake of cinnamon

Now mix this all together and put in your favorite mason jar. I like to use this exfoliant on my legs, body, and arms while taking a hot shower. Let me know how you guys like it!!

My Journey To Thicker Legs (The Thick Thighs Chronicles) Pt. 1

I have always strived to be skinny (or thin), nicely toner, but long and lean overall. I am tired of that. I think muscular legs on women (to an extent) are very attractive and in this process I am also trying to add definition to my arms and slim my mid section. I’m not trying to look like a bikini model and have absolutely no desire to get “bulky” I just want thicker muscles and bigger calves.

Day 1: I’m looking at pictures of girls with naturally muscular legs and feeling bad about myself (unhealthy, but true) I’m trying to turn in into motivation as I am on my way to the gym.

I lifted pretty heavy and I’m satisfied with my gym performance today. Gonna go eat a big meal and treat myself to a snapple.

Day 2: I am sore. Ate quite a bit (including pancakes) but it’s ok… I’m growing! I went for a long walk and did one hill sprint before I decided I was just gonna go home.

Day 3: I’m about to lift again… I’ll keep y’all posted.

Okay, so I lifted… (25 reps w 150) and (5 reps w 160  x2) then (50 reps w my calves with 150) after 20 jump squats.Now I’m eating a giant veggie burger, a sandwich, and a bag of dates. Tonight I’m going to do my abs and some push ups.

Day 4: I could go to the gym today, but I’m not sure if I should.. don’t want to over work my muscles but I want t do as much as possible… (lifting struggles)

Okay so I read a little, and I shouldn’t lift today. I’m going to do  couple hill sprints and some jump squats. – I’m not sore today p.s but I am STARVING.

I ate an extremely weird combo of food today, and it wasn’t all super healthy, but it wasn’t junk.

Day 5: I rested.. lol

Day 6: Hills, abs, jump squats, and regular lunges.

Day 7: I ran and ate a lot of bread

Okay guys so I’ll post my leg work out from heaven ASAP and I will chronicle my next week of leg development.

 

Cheat Days: Do? Do Not.

A lot of body building websites/plans or “weight loss experts” who prescribe the chicken/broccoli diet will tell you yes! A cheat meal or day is okay, or even good! But let’s just be completely clear… whether it’s okay or not when it comes to weight loss… it is NOT okay for your health. Part of being healthy is not starving/binging. Maybe you can achieve an amazing physique while being hungry and unsatisfied 6/7 days a week and full and sick 1/7 days of the week, but you will never be “healthy” following a plan like that. Especially mentally. Real foods should not be looked at as OFF LIMITS for 6/7 days of the week. You can eat any food you want, waffles, cake, milkshakes… just try and find ways to make them healthier so you can enjoy them in your everyday life. I love making frozen banana milkshakes with honey, dates, almond milk, and spices, and it tastes JUST like a milkshake! I’ll try to post my gluten free dairy free waffle recipe in a week or two, but trust me these waffles are to die for, I can eat them everyday, and they satisfy me (fill me up and taste awesome… I don’t feel like I’m settling.)

That’s me after a full day of eating, taken right after dinner with my boyfriend. My body stays the same and pretty slim (but my booty stays big) since I discovered how to eat right vs starve then binge. (my weight used to yo-yo)

Let’s talk about off limits. I do make a few foods off limits, but not just because they’re bad for me… but also because they make me feel awful and I don’t really enjoy them that much.

  • Candy (processed, packaged candy – this does not include a dark chocolate bar or chocolate covered almonds)
    • Absolutely nothing good in these types of foods, loaded with trans fats and processed sugars, and they make me feel like complete garbage.
  • Milk
    • I’m lactose sensitive, and I have researched milk so milk absolutely disgusts me. Plus it’s not good for your skin or keeping your figure.
  • Chips (lays, cheetos, etc.)
    • I do eat organic chemical free kettle cooked chips which actually are delicious, and I can eat a whole bag without feeling a gross coating all over my insides and like I can’t walk for a week.
  • Fast Food
    • I just avoid all fast food. I don’t really desire fast food fries when I could go get some good, fresh, thick cut, yummy fries at a restaurant. For me fried foods aren’t a no-no, but chemical covered, oddly flavored, cooked in rancid oil fried foods are.

Now let’s go over some “sometimes foods”. These are foods I eat small amounts of. Not because I am limiting myself but I find that if I allow myself to eat these foods I find I feel my best when I just eat small amounts everyday.

  • Cheese
    • Cheese is actually pretty rare in my diet (once a week max) but not because I plan it that way, just because I found once I allowed myself to eat cheese I didn’t actually want it all that much. Sometimes you only want a “bad” food so much because you make it off limits.
  • Sugar
    • I try and avoid added sugar or super sugary products, but sometimes your waffles need a spoonful of brown sugar to turn them from good into great and I’m not going to have a good breakfast when I could have a great one because I’m scared of a spoon of sugar.

SOMETIMES I eat a little pizza. I go to a local place that uses all organic ingredients and get me some pizza with veggies and maybe (pretty rarely) will get pizza with a meat topping. It full fills my cravings and at the end of the day, it’s really not that bad for you. Me allowing myself a couple slices of my favorite food when I crave it actually helps me crave it way less. Like I said before… knowing you can have whatever you want whenever you want actually doesn’t make you want it all that often.

Portion sizes are super important when trying to live a healthy lifestyle. Right? Wrong. Eat until you are full. Really listen to your body, get in touch with it. Find out how much you can eat before you’re too full and how much you need to eat to have enough energy and feel good. If you’re eating the right foods, weight shouldn’t be a problem. This isn’t me telling you to stuff your face with healthy foods, I’m just saying, satisfy your appetite, or It’ll come bite you on the ass.

This is a little bowl of vegan hemp soft serve. I didn’t skip a planned snack later that day or do an extra mile on my run (I didn’t run at all actually) to make up for it. I just ate it. It was satisfying, I enjoyed it, and I didn’t hate myself or try and make up for it.

Vegan Bonus tip. If you’re vegan and love you some junk food, oreos are vegan and you can eat as many as you want whenever you want, do you, eat how you want, live yo life, and treat yo self!

Gigi Hadid Diet and Fitness Guide

Gigi Hadid has been making a splash in the fashion world recently especially since she is now officially a part of the VS Angel crew.

One thing that’s so great about Gigi is her body isn’t like a typical models body… (I personally think it’s better). Mostly because she is a healthy weight and is able to be healthy and fit while eating (unlike some models with more typical model bodies). She has thighs and boobs, so she fills out her dresses, but she also has abs and a toned body so it’s a balance of everything you’d want!

I’ve done some research, and this is what I’ve found out about Gigi’s workout routine and diet!

Her motto is: eat clean to stay fit, but have a cheat day to stay sane. She loves pasta, cheeseburgers, and other junk food type things, but she balanced those out by drinking green juices and smoothies, and eating salads and other healthy meals.

Some staples for Gigi’s pantry/fridge would be:

  • Mixed greens and other salad making supplies
  • Raw veggies like carrots, radishes, cucumbers, and snap peas
  • Hummus
  • Avocados
  • Whole grain bread
  • Kale
  • Green tea
  • Cold pressed juices

Some go to meals for Gigi would be:

  • A green protein smoothie
  • Salad with sea food
  • Sandwich with greens and avocados (various other things inside, not cheese)
  • Roasted veggies with rice and beans
  • Kale/spinach scramble

When it comes to working out, Gigi is a beast. She…

  • Boxes (video here)
  • Plays volleyball
  • Rides horses (which is a surprisingly good butt workout)
  • Jumping rope

She’s been quoted saying her legs are rock hard and she eats like a man. Looking at her body, we can assume she is over exaggerating about the eating like a man thing, but since she works out so much she has to fuel her body so she can develop muscle and continue to slay everyone in the fashion business.

Another stand out part of Gigi are her abs. So sit ups, crunches, leg lifts, planks and yoga can all help tone and firm your abs!

Finally, it’s important to remember that your body is your body and Gigi’s body is her body and the two will never look alike whether you eat the exact same thing and work out for the exact same amount of time. Remember to love yourself and eat well and your desired results will come.
